Be Inspired and Connect
Connect with a “living” church in action

Days in the Dioceses is a Catholic event open to all. It will inspire young people from all over the world.
Days in the Dioceses gives us all the chance to see and hear speakers from the whole of the universal Church, including Cardinals, Bishops and lay Catholic leaders. Inspiring speakers from all corners of the globe will be sharing their faith in the lead up to World Youth Day 2008.
For visitors to Melbourne, you will get the chance to experience the “living” church in action. Join local Catholic people as they serve the Melbourne community.
Connect with other young pilgrims on the same journey as you

In Melbourne, the Church is a living, breathing part of society. The Melbourne Days in the Dioceses is your chance to get out and meet thousands of other Catholics on the same journey as you.
Melbourne is home to people from many different races and cultures, and we’re expecting another 25,000 young people to show up over the Days in the Dioceses week.
Days in the Dioceses will give you the chance to experience a very dynamic, engaging Church; to see the “living” Church in action in Melbourne, a vibrant multicultural city.
Programs such as those that help out recently arrived refugees, or the Society of St Vincent de Paul’s - Vinnies to the locals - soup van are powerful examples of the Church’s involvement in the city’s community.
We also hope many of you will stay with us in our local parishes and communities as Melbourne Catholics open their hearts and homes to you. We can help you find accommodation with local Catholics through the Melbourne Stay program. For more information go to Get Involved page - Melbourne Stay.
Melbourne will be buzzing all week long

Melbourne’s Days in the Dioceses will feature events to inspire everyone. From smaller, more prayerful events in local parishes to the big celebrations in the city, they will give you the chance to expand and energise your faith in a range of ways.
Each morning of the Days in the Dioceses week will feature events in local parishes. These will focus on the Church’s role in the community, giving Melbournians and visiting pilgrims the chance to engage and share their faith with each other.
