Easter Message
"Easter is when Christians celebrate the Life, Suffering, Death and Resurrrection of Jesus Christ. Easter faith gives hope and healing. It scatters despair and brings joy.
As our pilgrimage to Sydney for World Youth Day draws so close, let us prepare by participating as much as we can in these Easter celebrations in our parishes and communities. There will be time for the Sacrament of Reconciliation and prayerful adoration of the saving events of Easter - all these are great preparations for our Days in the Diocese and WYD.
Be assured of my prayers for all the wonderful preparations that are taking place around the Archdiocese for DID and WYD. Let this Easter focus our attention not so much on the practical details of our pilgrimage but on entering more fully into the greatest pilgrimage of them all - the journey of God to us in Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour!
